Trees are essential for the well-being of the planet, but they are also good for our health. We know the benefits of exercise, but recent scientific studies have shown that simply spending time in woodland – as little as 15 minutes – can be beneficial for us. It’s a chance to turn off and immerse yourself in nature, away from other distractions.

Trees are all around Oasyhotel, and they play an important part in the experience here. We encourage you to take a little time out to walk among our beech woods, with no other purpose than to be outside in the fresh air, to breathe in deeply and relax. We have created four different paths through the trees: this map will guide you along the different routes – and explain the woodland wellness concepts of Forest Bathing and Bioenergetic Landscapes.

Forest Bathing

Forest Bathing involves spending time among trees, opening your senses, and enjoying the silence to harness the forest’s healing powers. Originating in Japan in the 1980s as shinrin yoku, it requires no water—just put away your devices and walk among the trees, breathing deeply.

Research shows even 15 minutes in nature can lower cortisol levels, alleviate depression, boost the immune system, and reduce anxiety. Beech trees, abundant at Oasyhotel, emit phytoncides that enhance this effect. For maximum benefits, spend 10 to 12 hours in the forest over three days, with each visit lasting around three hours. Walk slowly, stop at trees that attract you, breathe deeply, and stay mindful of your surroundings.

Bioenergetic Landscapes

Bioenergetic Landscapes explain how spending time in nature benefits our health through electromagnetic fields emitted by plants. Developed since the 1960s and advanced by Marco Nieri in Italy, this concept shows that these fields create zones of well-being.

Spending just 10 minutes in these zones can reduce stress and nourish our immune system, liver, and circulation. Our expert has measured the bio-energetic properties of specific trees around Oasyhotel, identifying their benefits. Enjoy a meditative walk in this natural environment, reconnecting with nature and yourself through the living silence of the forest.
